Graffiti Abatement Program~ G.A.P
Volunteers paint out graffiti 7 days a week in the Bernal Heights and neighboring buffer zones. The NWBA-GAP has a seat on the San Francisco Graffiti Task Force and is a member of the city’s Graffiti Watch Program.
The Design Review Board is an official committee of the NWBA and as such is governed by the Alliance’s by-laws. The Board reviews new construction and major remodeling projects in the neighborhood in accordance with the Bernal Heights Special Use District and the Elsie Plan. Board members are elected to serve two-year terms.

Mission Street Beautification Program
The Beautification Program is dedicated to greening and cleaning Mission Street. The NWBA Tree Committee organizes plantings/greening maintenance on Mission Street. In addition, the NWBA Maintenance Committee works with the Department of Public Works and other city agencies to keep the corridor clean and safe.
This committee was recently awarded the SF Community Challenge Grant to implement our

Review Committee
NWBA elected officers & concerned neighbors meet with applicants to welcome them to the neighborhood and acquaint them with NWBA’s “Good Neighbor Policy”.
Public Policy Committee
The Committee, taking direction from the Board of Directors and members, represents the area on public policy issues affecting the quality of life in Bernal Heights.
